Huawei HiSuite

Huawei HiSuite is a software suite of tools to manage Android devices from a PC running the Windows operating system. Huawei is one of few smartphone manufacturers that continue to offer a dedicated mobile management application available for Windows; many other wireless device brands simply rely on the built-in connectivity features offered by Microsoft.

Once downloaded and installed, HiSuite will detect your Huawei mobile device after you connect with a USB cable. Depending on your PC hardware, HiSuite will launch immediately and responsively. The software is available for Windows versions starting with Vista all the way to the latest Windows 10 update. The features are pretty much the kind you would expect from an Android device management utility app: files transfer, SMS communications, data synchronization, secure backups, and system management.

One neat feature of HiSuite is that it includes a security measure to prevent your smartphone from being unlocked with a PC if it is lost or stolen. The first time you run the software, you will be required to set up a numeric code; the app will not establish a connection between the computer and the mobile device without it. Other Android management suites do not offer this security feature, thus making smartphones and tablets vulnerably if they fall into the wrong hands.

The functionality of HiSuite is similar to what you would get from utility apps such as ADB tools, but with a better user interface that is friendly and reasonably intuitive. A nice touch is the ability to manage apps installed on the device; Android is notorious for not letting you completely wipe apps off flash storage or the SD card, but HiSuite will let you do this in a very efficient manner.

One thing that HiSuite does much better than other Android management suites is synchronizing Outlook. If you are a heavy Outlook email users, you will really appreciate this feature. If you use your smartphone or tablet primarily for photos, videos, and music, you will wish that Huawei would have made a greater effort to make multimedia viewing and organization more attractive.

Finally, HiSuite will give you complete management over the device operating system in terms of resetting, upgrading, and reverting. The program will connect to Huawei's servers to ensure that you get an operating system image that is right for your device, meaning that it will have all the necessary drivers. With this being mentioned, users should not expect to be able to revert to Android versions no longer supported by Huawei. All in all, HiSuite is a nice and free app for Huawei users.
